The history of Reflexology begins back in ancient civilisations across the world. The earliest evidence comes from the tomb of an Egyptian physician, dated 2500BC. In the early 1900’s, influenced by Sir Charles Sherrington (Nobel prize-winner for medicine), Dr William Fitzgerald discovered that by applying pressure on certain parts of the body it would have a numbing effect on another part of the body. This work was continued and refined into what we now know today as Reflexology.
